Lavarne Ross is an internationally acclaimed and prolific artist that grew up in Flint, Michigan amongst strong African American communities. He has drawn from these childhood experiences and memories to create a calendar that celebrates these strong Black family traditions.
In his 2021 calendar, you will find depictions of these unifying family traditions that have allowed our communities to remain strong and vibrant throughout the years. Included are images of simple everyday family life, marching bands, cookouts and other timeless activities commonly associated with the African American cultural experience.

Each African American wall calendar measures 12×12 inches (closed) and 12×24 inches (open). Every month shines a sermonic spotlight on a different biblical scripture. The days of the calendar feature important Black historical facts that took place on that date.
