Eagle Eye ( A Tribute to William Wright)
Eagle Eye (William Wright) is a limited edition work of art by Gerald Ivey depicting golfer William Wright.
In 1959, at the age of 23, Wright became the first African American to win a United States Golf Association event. In 1960, he won the NAIA national title. Unfortunately, he was unable to immediately participate in the PGA as a professional golfer due to the organization having a whites-only clause. In 1961, the clause was lifted but Wright still had difficulties obtaining sponsorships which further delayed his participation. Eventually, William would participate in the 1966 US Open and five US Senior Opens.
Available as a giclee on paper or a giclee on canvas. Ships signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity from the artist. Measures 40×10 inches in size.
