Jubilation: Burkina Faso Bronze Sculpture
An authentic bronze sculpture from Burkino Faso. A country known for artisans that specialize in the art of Lost Wax Bronze making. This way of crafting Bronze sculpture is an intense and gruelling process. The technique was first used in the 3rd millennium BC and is continued today by this select group of craftsmen in Burkino Faso.
These talented metalworkers casted this sculpture that depicts an African woman in a blue dress and matching headwrap during a moment of jubilance. Her arms are outstretched as she celebrates life through movement and dance. It was inspired by the following quote:
“The soul of one who serves God always swims in joy, always keeps holiday, is always in her palace of jubilation, ever singing with fresh ardor and fresh pleasure a new song of joy and love.”
This sculpture is titled “Jubilation”. Measures 9 inches (height) x 4.5 inches (length) x 3.5 inches (width). Weighs approximately 2lbs.
This sculpture is handmade so there may be slight and subtle variations in pattern, shape and size. This is what makes the sculpture unique and a true work of art.Â
