Our new calendar series featuring the art of Dora Alis Mera Velasco explores the innocence of children and spirituality. Dora’s latest body of work, titled Portraits of Innocence, served as the source material for the artwork displayed in this 2022 calendar. This collection consisted of over 100 images inspired by the children of Africa. Alis utilized a variety of techniques and mediums during the creation process. Dora Alis is an Afro-Columbian from El Queremal, Columbia. She paints a highly detailed realistic style with acute attention to detail and masterful capture of personality using oils, acrylics, colored pencils, graphite, oil pastels, India ink, and chalk on canvas, or paper. Since 1996, Alis has painted professionally and has exhibited her artwork internationally, and worked as an art professor to help inspire and teach the next generation of artists.
